Blanche Takayama Ski Resort is a premier ski destination located in Nagawa Town, Nagano Prefecture. As the name "Blanche" (meaning white in French) suggests, the resort offers a pristine, high-altitude environment. Situated at an elevation of 1,800m, the resort boasts an impressive sunny weather rate of approximately 90%, ensuring clear skies for your runs. From the mountain summit rest area, you can enjoy a breathtaking 360-degree panoramic view of the Northern Alps and Southern Alps, providing a bird's-eye view of the surrounding mountain ranges. The terrain features a vertical drop of 450m, with the upper slopes covering a vertical descent of approximately 300m.
The resort began operations on December 2, 1985. Originally operated by the Nagawa Town Promotion Corporation, the management transitioned to Mount Nagawa Co., Ltd. on April 1, 2022. The name "Blanche" carries a beautiful meaning: a white canvas upon which dreams for the next generation are painted.
The ultimate highlight is the 360-degree panorama visible from the summit rest area. On clear days, visitors can see as far as Mount Fuji. Due to its high altitude, the natural landscape is characterized by groves of fir and larch trees, with no cedar trees present, offering a unique alpine botanical environment. The resort is well-suited for skiers of all levels, and the lower slopes are particularly popular and safe for children and beginners.
The resort primarily operates during the winter season. The best time to visit is from December to March. Operating hours are as follows: Monday to Friday from 8:30 AM to 4:00 PM, and Saturdays, Sundays, and Public Holidays from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM. Please be aware that because of the high altitude, temperatures are extremely low and typically remain below freezing throughout the season.
The focus of the resort is on providing a high-quality skiing experience. Having operated as a specialized environment for skiers for many years, it is a popular destination for both families and seniors. The facility also provides high-performance equipment rental services to enhance your experience.
The resort is conveniently located near major expressways, including the Chuo Expressway, Nagano Expressway, and Joshin-etsu Expressway. Access via the Okaya Interchange is highly recommended. Using the Shin-Wada Tunnel, you can reach the resort in approximately 30 to 60 minutes from major interchanges.
Since the resort is at an altitude of 1,800m, temperatures are almost always below freezing. It is essential to bring heavy winter clothing and prepare thoroughly for the cold. If you are driving, we strongly recommend using vehicles equipped with studless winter tires or carrying tire chains for safety on the snowy roads. Please follow all facility rules and practice safe skiing etiquette.
