The Befco Bakauke Observatory is located on the 31st floor of Toki Messe in Niigata City, at a height of approximately 125m above ground. As one of the highest observation decks on the Sea of Japan side, its greatest charm is the unobstructed 360-degree panoramic view. Visitors can gaze out over Niigata City, the Sea of Japan, Sado Island, and even the distant Gassan mountain range. The name "Befco" is derived from the corporate brand of Kuriyama Rice Cracker Co., Ltd., symbolizing the spirit of challenging the possibilities of rice-based snacks.
Since December 1, 2009, the facility has operated under its current name following the acquisition of naming rights by Kuriyama Rice Cracker Co., Ltd. "Befco" stands for "Beika Frontier Company," representing a commitment to providing cutting-edge value and striving to be a category leader. It is a landmark that beautifully blends local corporate culture with the regional identity of Niigata.

The sunset period is exceptionally popular; the romantic sight of the sun sinking into the Sea of Japan, painting the sky in hues of gold and crimson, is truly mesmerizing.
