Amagase Agricultural Park (Rose Hill Amagase) is a beautiful botanical park located in the Amagase area of Hita City, Oita Prefecture. The park is renowned for its spectacular rose garden, which features various structures such as trellis arches draped in pink roses and beautifully designed terraced rose beds. Visitors can enjoy a sense of tranquility while surrounded by vast lawns and a breathtaking mountain landscape. Please be advised that this facility is scheduled to close permanently at the end of March 2026.
For many years, this agricultural park has been a beloved local destination for nature lovers. It has served as a significant landmark for the community to enjoy seasonal blooms. The garden boasts a diverse collection of roses in colors such as white, pink, red, and yellow. The landscape is defined by its architectural elegance, including rose-covered arches and tiered garden beds that create a multi-dimensional viewing experience. Beyond the flower beds, a wide-open lawn provides a perfect space to appreciate the surrounding mountain scenery.
The most beautiful time to visit is during the spring, specifically around April and May. During these months, the roses are in full bloom, and the scenery under a clear blue sky is truly spectacular.
Visitors can enjoy leisurely strolls through the rose-scented paths, photography among the floral arches, or simply relaxing on the expansive lawns while immersed in the natural environment.
