Aizukogen Daikura Ski Resort is a premier ski resort located in the scenic Aizu region of Fukushima Prefecture. Please note that the availability of specific courses and lift operations may change depending on weather conditions and snow quality.
The resort operates primarily during the winter season (roughly from December to April). Operating hours vary depending on the type of lift used. For example, the Chuo Pair Lift and Komatome Pair Lift typically run from 8:30 to 16:00, the Shirakaba Triple Lift from 9:00 to 15:30, and the snow escalator from 10:00 to 15:00. We recommend checking the status upon arrival, as operations may be adjusted due to weather or maintenance.
The main attraction is, of course, skiing and snowboarding. The variety of lifts allows you to explore different parts of the mountain, while the snow escalator makes it easy for beginners to practice. Depending on the season, you might even experience special events like the 'Daikura Snow Festival.' For those traveling light, the 2nd Lodge offers rental services, allowing you to enjoy the slopes without carrying heavy equipment.
Located very close to the ski resort is 'Michi-no-Eki Tajima.' This local roadside station offers a special 'Michi-no-Eki Pack Ticket,' which includes a lift pass bundled with meal vouchers, soft drinks, or rental discounts, providing excellent value for your trip. It is a great place to enjoy local food and relax after a day on the slopes.
As this is an outdoor winter activity, proper gear is essential. Please ensure you have heavy thermal clothing, gloves, and goggles. If you plan to use the rental services, you may be asked to present identification. For safety and etiquette, skiing outside of the designated courses is strictly prohibited. We also recommend checking the lift schedules in advance, as they are subject to change based on weather conditions.
