Hyogo Prefectural Flower Center opened in 1976 and is managed by the Hyogo Prefecture Horticulture and Park Association. The vast 46-hectare site features gardens with various themes, including a cherry blossom garden, rhododendron garden, peony garden, hydrangea garden, and azalea path, centered around the Kamekura Pond. In the large greenhouse, you can see plants from tropical and subtropical regions, as well as begonia and carnivorous plant collections that are among the best in Japan. The carnivorous plant room has been extensively renovated from the old tropical flower room and is well worth seeing. In 2022, a pitcher plant (Nepenthes Truncata) grown in the garden was recognized by Guinness World Records for having the world's largest pitcher. Various events are held throughout the year, ensuring there's always something to enjoy. It is also recommended to visit the adjacent Tamaoka Historical Site Park (the Tamaoka burial mounds are a national historical site).
