Overview

Oku-oi Lake Station is a station on the Oigawa Railway Ikawa Line, located in Kawanehoncho, Shizuoka Prefecture. The station is situated at the tip of a peninsula-like mountain jutting out into Sessho Lake, an artificial lake created by the Nagashima Dam. The station building sits atop two massive steel bridges, the "Rainbow Bridges," making it appear as if it's floating on the lake. These Rainbow Bridges also serve as a walkway offering an up-close view of passing trains. With minimal artificial light sources in the surrounding area, visitors can enjoy a breathtaking view of the night sky filled with stars. Capitalizing on this location, Oigawa Railway operates a special "Starry Sky Train" for nighttime viewing.
