Set in the scenic landscape of Ashikaga City, Tochigi, the "Vélo.Ashikaga Cycle Festa" is an exciting event for all cycling enthusiasts. Whether you are a seasoned cyclist or a beginner, there are three distinct courses tailored to your skill level. A major highlight is the rare opportunity to ride alongside athletes from the professional road racing team, "Astemo Utsunomiya Blitzen."

Highlights & How to Enjoy

The biggest draw is the chance to ride with the professional riders of Astemo Utsunomiya Blitzen! The atmosphere is electric, fueled by the energy of the riders and their dedicated fans, the "Blitzen Lovers." Beyond the racing, you can enjoy local flavors at the food trucks and specialty shops planned along the course, making it a perfect day of cycling and local gourmet-tasting.

Schedule

The event takes place on November 7. Please note the following schedule:

  • *Registration Starts**: 8:00 AM
  • *Event Ends**: Around 2:00 PM

Venue & Access

The start and finish lines are located at Watarase River Plaza.

  • *Venue Name**: Watarase River Plaza (2-101 Sakaemachi, Ashikaga, Tochigi)
  • *Parking**: Available at the riverside ground south of Watarase River Plaza.

Courses & Fees

Choose from three courses based on your experience and age:

1. Challenge Course (Intermediate / For Junior High School students and above)

  • Distance: Approx. 57km / Elevation Gain: 615m
  • Fee: 4,000 JPY

2. Enjoy Course (Beginner / For 4th Grade Elementary students and above)

  • Distance: Approx. 34km / Elevation Gain: 405m
  • Fee: 1,500 JPY (4th–6th Grade) / 3,000 JPY (Junior High School and above)

3. Tandem Cycling Course (For visually impaired participants or those who can pedal with assistance)

  • Distance: Approx. 10km
  • Fee: 1,500 JPY

Essentials & Requirements

To ensure a safe ride, please prepare the following items:

  • *Required Items**: Bicycle, helmet, and race bib (The race bib will be sent to you in advance by the organizers).
  • *Reservations**: The Challenge and Enjoy courses require pre-registration via "Sports Entry." The Tandem Cycling course must be booked via telephone.
