Tosa Beef Whole Roast Festival
5 min readEvent Overview
The Tosa Beef Whole Roast Festival is one of the largest gourmet events in the region, held at the Yusuhara Riverbank (Nakagawara) surrounded by the stunning nature of Yusuhara, Kochi. This is a rare opportunity to experience the luxury of eating 'Tosa Beef'—a premium brand beef from Kochi—roasted whole over an open charcoal fire. Enjoy the rich, savory flavors of high-end beef alongside delicious onigiri and cold beer in a beautiful outdoor setting.
Highlights & How to Enjoy
The main highlight is the sight and aroma of the Tosa Beef being roasted whole over charcoal. Watching the meat sizzle and juice flow right before your eyes is a spectacular experience that you won't find in daily life. You can enjoy your meal in a relaxing, open-air atmosphere while listening to the soothing sounds of the Yusuhara River. Whether you are with friends or family, gather around the 'Shichirin' (traditional brazier) seats or the larger 'Drum' tables to create unforgettable memories.
Date & Schedule
The event will be held on September 26, 2026. The event runs from 10:00 to 14:00, with the final entry allowed until 12:30. Since the event is held outdoors, we recommend arriving early to account for any travel time. Please note that the event will proceed even in light rain.

The venue is the Yusuhara Riverbank (Nakagawara) in Yusuhara Town, Kochi Prefecture. To get there, take a bus bound for 'Yusuhara' from 'Susaki Station' on the JR Dosan Line (approximately a 1-hour journey).
