The Tokiwa Denki Jizo Matsuri is a rare and fascinating ritual dedicated to the "Denki Jizo" (Electric Jizo). This deity honors the history of the Gujo Hachiman Otsuhime River Power Station, one of Japan's earliest power generation projects from the Meiji era. This event beautifully connects Japan's modernization history with local spiritual traditions.
The main attraction is the unique atmosphere where the devotion to the "Electric Jizo" meets the high-energy Gujo Odori dance. In front of the Former Town Hall Memorial, you will see circles of dancers moving to traditional music. For the best view, the area near Ogaki Kyokitsu Bank offers a perfect vantage point to photograph the entire dance circle. It is a wonderful way to feel the essence of a Japanese summer night against a backdrop of historic architecture.

The dancing is scheduled from 8:00 PM to 10:30 PM.
The venue is in front of the Former Town Hall Memorial, located within the beautiful historic streets of Gujo Hachiman.
