Hosted by the Tohoku Kanko Promotion Organization, this professional seminar is designed for educators, school administrators, and travel agencies planning educational trips (school excursions and field studies). Under the theme "Learning in Tohoku," the seminar showcases the diverse educational value of the Tohoku region and Niigata Prefecture. It highlights practical content such as disaster prevention and mitigation learning, as well as inquiry-based programs related to SDGs, designed to foster essential life skills in the modern classroom.
Gain direct insights into the unique "learning resources" offered by the prefectures of Tohoku and Niigata. The event is divided into two specialized sessions:
Representatives from the six Tohoku prefectures and Niigata will present the latest educational programs. This includes guided tours by survivors/experts regarding disaster prevention and mitigation, and study tours focused on nature, culture, and history. Examples include the Jomon culture of the Sannai-Maruyama site, the cultural heritage of Chuson-ji, and local cultural experiences like Tsugaru Shamisen.
This session offers practical opportunities for networking. In the "Individual Consultation Session," school officials can discuss specific itineraries and program implementation with regional representatives. The "Business Matching Session" allows travel agencies to build networks with local service providers to better navigate changing market environments, such as rising costs and inbound tourism demands.
