7 min read

Event Overview

Tsuwano, Shimane Prefecture, is a historic "Railway Town" that has flourished as a hub for the Yamaguchi Line since 1922. It was once recognized as one of the top 12 "Railway Towns" in Japan. Since 1979, the area has also been famous for the revival of the SL Yamaguchi steam locomotive, which is approaching its 50th anniversary.

The "Tsuwano Railway Town Exhibition" is designed to deepen your understanding of this rich culture. Through panel and video displays at various local shops, stations, and the Japan Heritage Center, you can learn about the town's history. A stamp rally is also held simultaneously, allowing you to enjoy a walking tour while learning about the past.
