Tanigawadake Yamabiraki is a traditional event held annually in early July. In 2026, it will take place on July 5. This special program features the "Tanigawadake Yamabiraki" special train departing from Ueno Station, followed by a mesmerizing candle tower illumination along the path from Doai Station to the Tanigawadake Information Center.
The highlight of this event is the spectacular light display held from late night to early morning. After boarding the special train departing Ueno Station at 23:42, you will arrive at Doai Station. From there, the path to the Tanigawadake Information Center will be illuminated by traditional bonfires and candle towers, offering a rare and mystical view of the mountain landscape at night.
