Event Overview

"Shayo-no-kai (2026)" is a special workshop held at the Kanazawa Noh Museum where you can experience the art of tracing Noh chants (utai). This is a unique opportunity to step away from the bustle of daily life and find mental clarity. By tracing the elegant, flowing characters of the Hosho school under the guidance of a professional Noh performer, you can experience a sense of spiritual purification and deep focus.

Highlights & What to Expect

The highlight of this program is the chance to trace authentic Noh chant books (utaibon) while listening to expert commentary. Unlike a standard calligraphy class, this experience allows you to feel the unique rhythm and aesthetic of Noh. Learning directly from a Noh performer provides deeper insight into the stories and the spiritual essence behind the characters.
