Robot & Programming Workshop: "Gyro Shooter with LEGO WeDo 2.0"
7 min readEvent Overview
"Gyro Shooter with LEGO WeDo 2.0" is a hands-on programming experience held at the Yamanashi Prefectural Science Center using the globally loved LEGO WeDo 2.0 educational blocks. Rather than just running a program, participants set a specific goal: "making a top spin for a long time." This allows for a deep dive into program structure and robot modification.
Designed to foster STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) thinking, the program covers everything from basic programming to how physical structures affect movement. It is suitable for a wide range of ages, from elementary school students to adults.
Highlights & How to Enjoy
The biggest draw is the process of "modification." Participants don't just rewrite code; they experiment with physical part placement and structural changes to see how it affects the robot's behavior. In this "Gyro Shooter" theme, you will touch upon advanced concepts like rotation mechanisms, inertia, and speed control.
Using the intuitive LEGO WeDo 2.0 tool, even beginners can progress easily. There is a great sense of achievement when your robot moves exactly as expected! Experience a creative fusion of cutting-edge technology and classic block play in a science museum setting.
