Event Overview

POLE to POLE 2026, hosted by the Japan Riders Forum, is the ultimate motorcycle touring rally designed to traverse the entire length of the Japanese archipelago. Under the theme "THE ROUND 4 POLES," this challenging event invites riders to carve their own path from Cape Sata in Kagoshima Prefecture to Cape Soya in Hokkaido. It offers an unparalleled adventure that captures the spirit of a rally-raid, driving the passion of riders to reach the extreme points of the country.

Highlights & Experience

The greatest draw is the epic scale of conquering Japan's northern and southern extremes. As you ride through Kyushu, Western Japan, Central Japan, Tohoku, and finally Hokkaido, you will witness the dramatic shifts in Japan's geography and culture. Each stage offers unique landscapes, from volcanic mountains and lush forests to historic streetscapes and the vast, grand nature of the northern wilderness. For those who complete the journey, a special honor awaits: a custom nameplate will be engraved at Soya Shrine to commemorate your achievement.

Schedule

The event is structured across multiple stages.

Venue & Access

The route spans a vast distance starting from Cape Sata (Fureai Dome Nosen) in Kagoshima Prefecture and ending at Cape Soya in Hokkaido. Please check the official announcement for specific meeting and dispersal points for each stage. While access to the Cape Sata area is typically via car or motorcycle, public transportation is limited, so advanced planning is essential.

Participation Details

Riders can choose between the ADVENTURE class (full course participation) or specific section participation. To successfully complete the rally, riders must meet specific requirements, such as reaching designated waypoints or arriving at certain locations within a set time. Ensure your bike and gear are prepared for the unique demands of each stage as you traverse the length of Japan.

Gear, Clothing & Etiquette

As this is a touring rally, high-quality safety gear is essential. You will need a helmet, gloves, a puncture repair kit, and potentially a bike transport bag. Given the changing weather across different latitudes, please bring layers for temperature control and change of clothes. Please strictly follow local traffic laws and practice good etiquette to ensure a safe and respectful journey through local communities.
