Event Overview

Experience a seasonal Wagashi-making workshop at Shimanto Pia, a comprehensive cultural center in Shimanto City, Kochi Prefecture. In this session, you will learn to craft "Nerikiri," a type of beautiful and delicious seasonal Japanese confectionery. You will create motifs representing the seasons, such as sunflowers, maple leaves, or cherry blossoms, to deeply understand Japanese traditional food culture and aesthetics. You can enjoy one piece on-site and take the remaining three pieces home as souvenirs.

Highlights & How to Enjoy

The greatest charm of this workshop is the process of expressing the changing seasons through the form of Wagashi. While learning the techniques of professional artisans, you can experience the unique texture and colors of Nerikiri and the joy of shaping your own beautiful sweets. By creating seasonal motifs like sunflowers or maple leaves, you will truly feel the richness of Japan's four seasons.
