This special workshop is part of the "Exhibition at Home: Let's Decorate with Fun Art!" series. Participants will use traditional Japanese painting brushes to capture the essence of autumn on small paper strips called 'Tanzaku.' You can choose motifs such as autumn leaves, the moon, silver grass, chrysanthemums, or even persimmons and chestnuts. Beyond just painting, the program includes an introduction to the brushes themselves, offering a deep dive into the tools and the aesthetic sensibilities of traditional Japanese art.
The main draw is the opportunity to handle authentic Japanese painting brushes and experience their unique texture and feel. You will create your own miniature world on a long, narrow strip of paper. Whether you prefer delicate strokes or bold movements, the choice is yours. With guidance from the instructor, even beginners can enjoy the process while learning about the tools used. The finished artwork is intended to be displayed at home, bringing the joy of art into your daily life.
