The Oaso Genki Walk is a walking event held amidst the rich natural environment of Aso, Kumamoto. The 2026 edition marks its 14th year. This program allows participants to experience the charms of the Aso region while walking through its landscapes. Three courses are available—20km, 10km, and 5km—allowing you to choose a distance that suits your preference. Please note that advance registration is mandatory as participants must be covered by accident insurance.
The greatest feature of this event is the ability to walk while gazing at the grand scenery of Aso. The designated courses pass through the unique topography and natural landscapes characteristic of the Aso region. With three different distances (20km, 10km, and 5km), you can enjoy different views depending on your chosen path. Walking through this untouched nature offers a refreshing escape from daily life.
The event will be held over two days on November 7 (Sat) and November 8 (Sun), 2026.

The specific locations for the start and finish lines are based on the official application forms and course maps. As the event is held in the Aso area, please access the venue via public transportation or car. Detailed course maps and reception locations can be confirmed via the distributed materials or the official website.
Advance registration and payment of the participation fee are required. The registration deadline is September 30, 2026 (Wed) at 17:00. Participation fees vary for adults, Aso residents, students, and toddlers. You may also opt for a commemorative booklet, badge, or name publication during the application process. Please note that cancellations after the deadline or due to late payment will not be eligible for refunds or official record certification.
