The Onga Hanabi Fireworks Festival is a special autumn event held in Onga Town, Fukuoka Prefecture. Replacing the former Onga Town Summer Festival, this event's highlight is a spectacular display of 3,000 fireworks lighting up the night sky. The program includes a variety of entertainment, such as Halloween-themed performances and stage shows featuring local stars.

The main attraction is the breathtaking display of 3,000 fireworks. Beyond the fireworks, the event offers seasonal fun for all ages. Children in elementary school and younger can enjoy the "Halloween Candy Giveaway," and the stage features impressive performances like the "Bian Lian" (Face-Changing) magic show. You can also expect high-energy local entertainment, including appearances by famous professional swimmers from the region.
Schedule
The event is scheduled from 17:00 to 20:00. The program details are as follows (subject to change):
- *17:00**: Food stalls and shops open
- *17:30**: Opening ceremony
- *17:50~**: Halloween Candy Giveaway (For elementary school students and younger; ends when candy runs out)
- *18:10~18:30**: Face-Changing Magic Show
- *19:00~19:30**: Fireworks Display (3,000 shells)
- *20:00**: Food stalls close and event ends
Venue & Access
The venue is the Onga Minami Junior High School Ground. The fireworks will be launched from the Mushiu-Kami Beppu area, located south of the main venue.
There are NO parking lots or bicycle parking areas available at or near the venue. Parking on local streets or at nearby shops is strictly prohibited. Please use the shuttle bus or arrive on foot.
- *Temporary Parking Lots**:
- Onga General Sports Park (Shuttle bus service available to the venue)
- Onga Town Hall Parking (Approx. 30-minute walk to the venue)
- Imukoja Event/Exchange Plaza (Approx. 35-minute walk to the venue)
- *Free Shuttle Bus**:
- Runs between Onga General Sports Park / JR Ongagawa Station South Exit and the Shokuiku Exchange/Disaster Prevention Center.
- *Traffic Restrictions**: For safety, road closures will be in effect around the venue from 15:30 to 21:00. Certain sections will be closed to all vehicles, including motorcycles and bicycles.
Tips for Visitors
To enjoy the festival to the fullest, please note that paid viewing areas (reserved seats) are available for those who wish to watch the fireworks comfortably. These tickets must be purchased in advance; please check the availability and purchase methods beforehand.
What to Bring & Etiquette
- *Clothing**: As this is an outdoor night event, please bring warm clothing to prepare for temperature drops. Halloween costumes are welcome!
- *Payment**: We recommend bringing cash for purchases at the food stalls.
- *Trash**: Please dispose of your trash at designated collection points or take it home with you.
- *Prohibited Items**: Drones, smoking within the venue, and reserving spots (place-taking) are strictly prohibited. Do not enter the restricted zones near the fireworks launch site.
