Event Overview

Night Safari is a special nighttime event held at Nasu Safari Park in Tochigi Prefecture. It offers a unique way to observe wildlife during their most active hours. Witness the movements and expressions of animals emerging from the darkness while safely observing from your own car, a rental safari car, or the specialized Lion Bus. It is an incredibly exciting program that lets you feel the raw energy of nature up close.

The biggest draw is experiencing the 'wild side' of nature. You can observe nocturnal animals and behaviors that are impossible to see during the day. Watch white lions, tigers, and elephants through the darkness, feeling like a true explorer from the safety of your vehicle. You can choose from various ways to explore the safari zone, such as the high-energy 'WILD RIDE' or the thrilling 'Lion Bus' experience.

Schedule & Dates

The event runs from April 4th to October 24th, held on specific days including Saturdays, Golden Week, and the Obon holiday period. Operating hours are from 18:30 to 21:00 (last entry at 20:30). Please check the official website for specific dates, as the schedule may vary by year.

By Car

• Approximately 15 minutes from Nasu I.C. via the Nasu Kaido.
• Approximately 25 minutes from Kuroiso-Itabushi I.C.

By Train & Bus

• From JR Nasu-Shiobara Station or JR Kuroiso Station, take a bus bound for Nasu Ropeway/Nasu Yumoto and get off at the 'Nasu Safari Park Iriguchi' stop (approx. 5-minute walk).
• Alternatively, use the Nasu Highland Sightseeing Bus and get off at the 'Nasu Safari Park' stop (0-minute walk).

Tips for Visitors

Choosing your mode of transport is key to your experience. You can enter with your own car, rent a safari car, ride the specialized Lion Bus, or book the popular 'WILD RIDE.' Because the 'WILD RIDE' is highly sought after, we strongly recommend checking availability and booking in advance. Please note that safari car rentals may be suspended during peak seasons like Golden Week or summer holidays.

What to Bring & Etiquette

As this is an outdoor nighttime event, please dress warmly to prepare for the temperature drop in Nasu at night. Check the official website or booking sites (such as Asoview) for payment and reservation details. To ensure safety and animal welfare, please do not attempt to feed the animals.
