NATSUKI MARI FESTIVAL in KYOTO 2026 'PLAY × PRAY' Night 12 is a special cultural dedication performance directed by and starring the renowned Japanese actress Mari Natsuki. The stage is the historic Kiyomizu-dera, a UNESCO World Heritage site in Kyoto. Now in its 13th year, this project aims to revitalize the art scene through performances in iconic Japanese locations, while supporting women and children in developing nations through the 'One of Love Project' led by Ms. Natsuki.

Highlights

The highlight of this performance is the collaboration between the performance group 'MNT (Marina Natsuki Terroir)' and the Shomyo (traditional Buddhist chanting) performed by Kiyomizu-dera's chief priest, Seiken Mori. In the sacred space of the Kyodo (Sutra Hall), the fusion of physical language and spiritual chanting offers a deeply moving experience of prayer and art. This is a rare opportunity to witness creative expression, highly acclaimed in international theater festivals, within a traditional Japanese setting.

Participation Details

This is a free event, but it is strictly by lottery with a capacity of only 100 people. You must apply in advance via the designated form and will only be able to attend if you are selected in the lottery. Please note that due to the venue structure, some attendees may be required to stand.

The venue is within the grounds of Kiyomizu-dera. As this is a performance in a sacred temple, please maintain respectful behavior. Since the event is held at night, we recommend wearing clothing suitable for changing temperatures.
