Kehi Jingū, located in Tsuruga City, Fukui Prefecture, is the prestigious Ichinomiya (first shrine) of the ancient Echizen Province and serves as the guardian shrine of the Hokuriku region. Locally cherished as "Keisan," this shrine hosts the Natsu O-harae, a vital Shinto ritual to cleanse the sins and impurities accumulated during the first half of the year. From JR Tsuruga Station (Hokuriku Line), it is approximately a 15-minute walk, or a 5-minute bus ride from the station to the "Kehi Jingū-mae" stop.

【By Car】

Approximately 10 minutes from the Tsuruga IC on the Hokuriku Expressway. Free parking (approx. 100 spaces) is available.

The shrine grounds are dotted with spiritual spots like the "Chomeisui" spring; we recommend taking a leisurely stroll to enjoy the historic architecture and natural beauty around the ceremony.

Etiquette & Dress Code

Please dress neatly and respectfully as this is a sacred site. For purchasing amulets (Omamori) or offerings (Goshu-rei), please visit the shrine office during operating hours (8:45 AM – 4:45 PM). While individual prayers (Kito) can be requested directly at the shrine office without prior reservation, it is customary to prepare a monetary offering in a traditional decorative envelope (Noshi-bukuro).
