Guide
"Art Museum Explorer" is an interactive appreciation program held at the Nagano Prefectural Art Museum (NAM), designed for elementary school children and their guardians. Through questions like "What do you think this place is for?" or "How does this artwork make you feel?", participants explore the artworks and the museum building itself. The goal is to go beyond simple viewing to foster deep understanding and imagination through dialogue.
The core appeal of this event is "Dialogic Appreciation," which values a child's free-spirited intuition and conversation. By verbalizing discoveries such as "What is happening here?" while viewing works in the gallery, children can encounter new perspectives. By treating the entire space—from the exhibition rooms to the museum exterior—as a field for exploration, participants can build a deeper connection and familiarity with the museum environment.
This event will be held on Saturday, January 24, 2026.
The event takes place in the Collection Gallery of the Nagano Prefectural Art Museum.
