Celebrating the 130th anniversary of Kenji Miyazawa's birth, the "Towafura no Mori Light-up 2026" is a special event held at the Miyazawa Kenji Fairy Tale Village in Hanamaki, Iwate. The event features beautiful illuminated art installations and a unique workshop to create your own lamp shade using traditional Japanese Washi paper.
The main highlight is the Washi Lamp Shade Making Workshop. In this workshop, participants can dye Washi paper in their favorite colors and patterns, inspired by the illuminated art pieces. The completed works will be displayed at the Miyazawa Kenji Fairy Tale Village from August 1 to October 31. After the exhibition period ends, participants can collect their creations.
