MARUBUN Kintsugi Workshop

Event Overview

Discover the art of Kintsugi at MARUBUN SHOP, located within Arita Ceramic Life (Alitacera) in Arita, Saga. This workshop uses a modern "simplified Kintsugi" method with epoxy adhesive and synthetic lacquer instead of traditional urushi lacquer. This makes the process safer and more accessible for beginners or those new to the craft.

Highlights

The greatest charm is experiencing the "beauty of rebirth" by breathing new life into broken ceramics. Since the workshop provides the pieces to be repaired, you can join easily without bringing your own. During the session, you can also enjoy a relaxing break with delicious bread and drinks from MARUBUN BAKERY CAFE, immersing yourself in the rich food culture of Arita.

Schedule

The event will be held on September 26, 2026. It consists of two sessions:

• Session 1: 10:00–13:00
• Session 2: 13:30–16:30

Participation Tips

You can take home your finished piece. However, due to the nature of simplified Kintsugi, please avoid direct contact between food/drink and the repaired area. Pre-registration via Google Form is required.

Things to Bring & Etiquette

• *Reservations**: This event requires advance booking via the official Google Form. Reservations via phone, email, or Instagram DM are not accepted.
• *Payment**: The fee includes the cost of the ceramic piece, as well as the bread and drink for your break.
