Tanabata at Kyu-Tashiro-ke Residence is a seasonal event held at the historic Kyu-Tashiro-ke Residence in Shizuoka Prefecture. On July 11 (Sat) and July 12 (Sun), 2026, the site will be adorned with traditional Japanese Tanabata decorations. The venue is a stunning two-story wooden building, providing a breathtaking backdrop for the colorful paper streamers (tanzaku) and seasonal ornaments. During this event, the exclusive "Kyu-Tashiro-ke Residence Card" from the Shizuoka Meiken Card Project will also be distributed.
The highlight of this event is the seamless fusion of historic architecture and festive Tanabata spirit. Inside the building, countless vibrant paper streamers hang from the ceiling, creating a visually stunning traditional Japanese scene. You can also enjoy seasonal bamboo branches and fabric decorations around the premises. It is a perfect opportunity to experience both the architectural value of the residence and the cultural beauty of the Tanabata season.
