6 min readEvent Overview
"Kuru Fuku Maneki Neko Matsuri in Seto" is a special festival held in Seto, a town with a rich history as the birthplace of mass-produced porcelain Maneki Neko (beckoning cats). Since its inception in 1996, this event has become a beloved celebration blending the history of the Maneki Neko with modern art. The highlight is the "Nippon Maneki Neko 100 Exhibition," one of Japan's largest competitions, alongside hands-on workshops and exclusive local goods.
Highlights & How to Enjoy
The main attraction is the "Nippon Maneki Neko 100 Exhibition," featuring creative works by 100 selected artists. These modern interpretations of the lucky cat are truly captivating. For a fun, immersive experience, try "Maneki Neko Makeup" or wear cat-ear accessories while strolling through the town. You can also enjoy hands-on porcelain painting, seasonal "Fuku Fuku" lunches, and delicious Seto Yakisoba to fully experience the spirit of good fortune.
