Event Overview

"Kotonoha Marche 2026" is a large-scale outdoor literary festival held at the Matsuri Hiroba/Shukei Ryokuchi area of Nagisa Park in Otsu, Shiga Prefecture. The event brings together approximately 200 booths themed around diverse forms of literature, including picture books, novels, haiku, and ZINEs (indie booklets). Following the success of last year's event which drew 3,500 visitors, the 2026 edition is expanding its scale. It offers an immersive experience for all ages through book flea markets, student-led literary presentations, creative workshops, and gourmet food experiences.
