Event Overview

From mid-September to early October, Mukojima Hyakkaen hosts the annual "Hagi Festival" to celebrate the blooming of the bush clover (Hagi), one of the seven flowers of autumn. Set in a historic garden once frequented by poets and artists of the Edo period, this event offers a serene way to experience traditional Japanese aesthetics and the changing seasons.

Highlights & Activities

The main attraction is the breathtaking 30-meter long "Bush Clover Tunnel." The delicate landscape of reddish-purple Miyagino-hagi and white Shirobana-hagi creates a captivating scenery for visitors. Beyond the views, you can immerse yourself in local traditions through various activities:

• *Haiku & Waka Poetry**: Feel free to write your own verses in the poetry books provided at the gazebos near the wisteria trellis.
• *Cultural Experiences**: Enjoy seasonal activities such as plant watching, traditional tea ceremonies, and "Raku-yaki" pottery painting on unglazed ceramics.

Venue & Access

The event is held at the Mukojima Hyakkaen-style garden in Sumida, Tokyo.

• *Train**: Approximately an 8-minute walk from Higashi-Mukojima Station (Tobu Skytree Line) or a 13-minute walk from Keisei-曳舟 (Keisei-Hikifune) Station (Keisei Asakusa Line).
• *Bus**: Take the Toei Bus (Route Ri 22) and get off at the "Hyakkaen-mae" bus stop, followed by a 3-minute walk.
