Kiyosu Illumi is a seasonal illumination event held around Kiyosu Castle and Kiyosu Old Castle Ruins Park in Kiyosu City, Aichi Prefecture. This event transforms the historic castle grounds into a brilliant spectacle of light. With breathtaking projection mapping, special night-time openings, and a mini market, it offers a unique way to experience the beauty of a Japanese castle during the winter season.

The main attraction is the projection mapping performed against the backdrop of Kiyosu Castle. Watching light art dance across the historic architecture is a truly awe-inspiring sight, with shows occurring every 20 minutes throughout the evening. Additionally, Kiyosu Castle and the nearby "Kiyosu Furusato no Yakata" offer special night-time openings, allowing you to see the castle in a way that is rarely possible during the day.

Around the venue, you can also enjoy a mini market and food trucks. It is a wonderful way to enjoy local snacks and warm food while taking in the beautiful illuminated scenery. Please note that the availability of the mini market and food trucks may vary depending on the day of the week, so it is a good idea to check ahead.

The event runs from November 14, 2026 (Sat) to December 25, 2026 (Fri). The lights are typically lit from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM.

  • *Projection Mapping**: 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM (Shown every 20 minutes)
  • *Mini Market & Food Trucks**: 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM (*Mini market is held on Saturdays, Sundays, and Holidays only)
  • *Kiyosu Castle & Kiyosu Furusato no Yakata Night Opening**: Until 9:00 PM (*Closed on Mondays)

The event takes place around Kiyosu Castle and Kiyosu Old Castle Ruins Park.

By Car

  • Approximately 5 minutes from the "Kiyosu Exit" on the Nagoya Expressway Route 6 Kiyosu Line.
  • Approximately 5 minutes from the "Kiyosu Higashi IC" on the Nagoya Second Ring Road.
  • *Parking**: You can use the Kiyosu Park Parking or Kiyosu Castle Parking (both are free). Please do not park on the street.

By Train

  • From JR "Nagoya Station," take the train to "Kiyosu Station" and walk for about 15 minutes.
  • From Meitetsu "Nagoya Station," take the train to "Shin-Kiyosu Station" and walk for about 15 minutes.

Tips for Visitors

To make the most of your visit, try to time your arrival with the projection mapping schedule. Also, keep in mind that the mini market and food trucks primarily operate on Saturdays, Sundays, and public holidays, so check the schedule if you are visiting on a weekday.
