The Kimitsu Citizen Festival is the largest community event held in Kimitsu City, Chiba Prefecture. This vibrant festival brings the community together through traditional music, dance, and seasonal celebrations. The program features diverse highlights such as concerts by the Japan Self-Defense Forces Band, the traditional 'Iyasa-ka Kimitsu Odori' dance, and a stunning fireworks display over Lake Koyama, offering a deep dive into local culture.
The main highlight is the 'Iyasa-ka Kimitsu Odori,' a traditional dance where the entire crowd joins in. The choreography is simple and beginner-friendly, making it easy for anyone to participate and feel the festive energy. In autumn, the festival reaches a climax with a fireworks display near Lake Koyama, where the lights reflect beautifully on the water.
