Event Overview

"Hoshi Akari" is a special illumination event held at Yakurai Garden in Kami District, Miyagi Prefecture, to celebrate the beauty of autumn and winter. The garden is filled with candle-style LED lights, creating a breathtaking, large-scale spectacle that feels as if the starry sky has descended to earth.

The main draw is the enchanting atmosphere created by the candle-style LED lights. The star-inspired lights illuminate the vast garden, offering a moment of peace to forget daily life. With soothing BGM playing throughout the grounds, you can enjoy the scenery through both sight and sound. We recommend taking a slow, relaxing stroll as if you are walking through the stars.

Venue & Access

The venue is Yakurai Garden located in Kami Town, Miyagi Prefecture.

  • *From Sendai**: Approx. 40 mins by car via Yamato IC on the Tohoku Expressway. Follow Route 457 and the Kami Wide Area Road.
  • *From Furukawa**: Approx. 40 mins by car from Furukawa Station via Route 347. Look for the "Yakurai Resort" sign to turn left.
  • *From Yamagata**: Use Route 347 toward Kami Town.
  • *From Sendai Airport**: Approx. 100 mins by car via Sendai South IC and Yamato IC.

Tips for Visitors

As you will be walking through a large garden at night, please dress appropriately for outdoor movement. The music enhances the scenery for a complete sensory experience. While tickets can be purchased at vending machines, checking online in advance is recommended.

What to Bring & Etiquette

As this is a nighttime event, please wear clothing suitable for the temperature. It can get quite cold between October and December.
