Event Overview

Hokukoku Hanabi 2026 Kanazawa Festival (Recovery Support Event in Kanazawa) is a major summer event held near the Sai River Green Space in Kanazawa City, Ishikawa Prefecture. In 2026, approximately 12,000 fireworks will illuminate the night sky. The event also features a special collaboration with the popular series "Love Live! Hasunosora 女学院 School Idol Club," making it a must-visit night for fans.

Highlights & How to Enjoy

The main attraction is the powerful display of 12,000 fireworks that you can feel up close near the center of Kanazawa. The art of light spreading across the Sai River landscape is breathtaking. For 2026, the collaboration with "Love Live! Hasunosora 女学院 School Idol Club" promises a unique experience where the world of the anime meets the beauty of fireworks. To enjoy the view more comfortably, consider purchasing reserved seats, including special collaboration-themed seats.

Schedule

  • *Date**: July 25, 2026 (Sat)
  • *Fireworks Start**: 19:50~
  • *Note**: In case of bad weather, the event will be postponed to July 26 (Sun).

Venue & Access

The venue is the area around the Sai River Green Space in Mamedacho, Kanazawa (near the Prefectural Mamedas Simple Ground). There is no general parking available near the venue. Please use the shuttle buses or public transportation:

  • *Shuttle Bus Stop 1**: JR Kanazawa Station (Kanazawa Port Side, West Exit, Platform 1)
  • *Shille Bus Stop 2**: Ken Seibu Ryokuchi Park (In front of the 1st base side of the Prefectural Baseball Stadium)

If traveling by car, do not drive directly to the venue; please use the designated shuttle bus stops.

Tips for Visitors

The area will experience traffic restrictions on the day. It will be very crowded, so please note the following:

  • *Arrive Early**: The area gets extremely crowded just before the fireworks start. We recommend arriving early in the evening to secure a viewing spot or to check in for paid seating, especially if you are with children.
  • *Consider Reserved Seating**: To avoid crowds and enjoy a relaxing view, consider purchasing paid reserved seats in advance. Collaboration-themed seats are highly popular and sell out quickly.
  • *Combine with Sightseeing**: A great plan is to enjoy sightseeing around Kanazawa Station, Omicho Market, Kenrokuen Garden, or the Higashi Chaya District during the day, then head to the venue in the late afternoon.

What to Bring & Etiquette

  • *Essentials**: Bring drinks, towels, fans, a leisure sheet (picnic mat), a portable battery, rain gear, a trash bag, and small change (for shuttle buses).
  • *Heat Protection**: Since you will be staying on the riverbank for a long time, prepare hydration and cooling items to prevent heatstroke.
  • *Photography Etiquette**: If using a tripod, ensure you do not block the view of others. Please note that filming or recording of certain collaboration events may be prohibited.
  • *Other**: The use of drones is strictly prohibited. Please follow the instructions of event staff and security personnel.
