The Higan-e service is a significant Buddhist ritual held at Tomiya Kannon Oyama-ji during the spring and autumn equinoxes. The purpose of this ceremony is 'Eko'—the act of dedicating merit to ancestors or departed loved ones through sacred sutra chanting. Based on traditional Japanese beliefs, this sacred ritual is performed to honor the deceased and cultivate spiritual merit during important life milestones.

Preparation is required for those wishing to participate. If you wish to dedicate the service to a specific ancestor or loved one, please contact the temple via phone or the inquiry form at least one week in advance. When applying, please provide the name of the person being honored (or their posthumous name), the name of the person making the request, and contact information. It is also recommended to confirm the details regarding the 'Bottoba' (memorial tablet).
While there is no strict dress code, modest and respectful attire suitable for a temple ceremony is highly recommended. The offering fee (Ofuse) starts from 5,000 JPY per soul.
