Hashi Matsuri is a traditional event held around the Ito Onsen area in Ito City, Shizuoka Prefecture. The festival is rooted in the Japanese spirit of showing gratitude to the tools we use daily. The highlight is the rare and visually striking ceremony where a flame is lit upon the 'Hashi Kuyo-to,' a tower made of countless old chopsticks.
The most breathtaking moment is when the flame is lit on the chopstick tower. Seeing the light illuminate the massive pile of chopsticks creates a truly mystical atmosphere.
