The Goshinkō Procession is the highlight of the Autumn Grand Festival at Achi Shrine in Okayama Prefecture. This sacred ritual follows the tradition of moving the deity's spirit through the community. The entire town is transformed into a living historical scene as people dressed in traditional attire parade through the streets, offering a breathtaking glimpse into Japan's past.

The main attraction is the magnificent 'Jidai Gyoretsu' (historical parade) consisting of approximately 200 participants. The procession covers a vast scale, winding through the streets for about 14–15 km. Along the way, you can witness elegant performances such as the 'Dance of the Three Goddesses' and the powerful 'Shishi Mai' (Lion Dance). A unique local highlight is the appearance of 'Sukoki'—characters wearing elderly masks who playfully tap people on the head with fans, bringing laughter and a lively atmosphere to the crowd.

The Goshinko Procession takes place on Sunday mornings during the Autumn Grand Festival. The parade is scheduled to begin around 7:00 AM. Note that the festivities begin on Saturday with the 'Sharyo Junko' (the procession of the portable shrine) and various ceremonies to express gratitude to the deities, followed by evening celebrations known as 'Mikui'.
