Nature Interaction: Plant Observation Tour

6 min read

Event Overview

Experience a specialized, hands-on program at the Kochi Prefectural Makino Botanical Garden, a facility dedicated to honoring the legacy of Dr. Tomitaro Makino, a giant in the field of botany. The garden is home to over 3,000 diverse plant species, including many wild plants closely associated with Dr. Makino. During this event, you will walk through the garden guided by a professional botanical advisor to learn about the unique ecology and seasonal beauty of the plants in real-time.

Highlights & How to Enjoy

The greatest charm of this tour is the opportunity to observe nature using all your senses while listening to live commentary from a plant expert. Rather than just seeing plants in a textbook, you will experience the vitality and seasonal transformations of living organisms right before your eyes. Through the instructor's guidance, the greenery transforms from simple scenery into a collection of living stories. Because the seasonal highlights change throughout the year, every visit offers a different way to experience the natural world.

Schedule

This event is scheduled for July 26, 2026, from 13:30 to 14:30. Please note that for July, the duration may be shortened by one hour compared to usual schedules. We recommend checking the latest information in advance to ensure you have a fulfilling one-hour experience.

The tour begins at the 'Main Building Atelier Training Room' within the Kochi Prefectural Makino Botanical Garden. The tour will move from this starting point into the various botanical areas of the vast, nature-rich grounds.
