The Umi no Hi Nagoya Minato Festival is a beloved summer tradition held around the Nagoya Port Garden Pier area in Aichi Prefecture. The highlight is the spectacular display of approximately 3,000 fireworks that reflect beautifully off the ocean surface. The festivities begin early in the afternoon with concerts, traditional Japanese Taiko drumming, Kagura dances, and a lively atmosphere reminiscent of a mini amusement park, making it a full-day celebration.
The magic of this event lies in the fusion of the night sky and the seaside scenery. While watching the fireworks, you can enjoy the view of the nearby Ferris wheel at Sheetrain Land and the Antarctic research vessel on display at the pier. The 700m stretch from Tsukuiguchi Station to the venue becomes a pedestrian-only zone filled with numerous food stalls. You can enjoy classic street food like yakisoba and takoyaki, as well as local Nagoya specialties like Miso Nikomi, alongside traditional games like goldfish scooping and shark fishing, perfect for families.

The venue is Nagoya Port Garden Pier. We strongly recommend using public transportation.
Approximately 10 minutes from the Nagoya Expressway Route 4 Minato-Akatsuki IC. However, due to road closures and traffic restrictions around the venue, public transport is highly recommended.
This is a very crowded event. Please be aware that Nagoya Port Station becomes extremely congested after the fireworks, and entry restrictions may be implemented. We recommend purchasing your train tickets in advance or waiting a while before heading home to avoid the rush. If you want to enjoy the food stalls to the fullest, arrive at the venue early.
