The Tokugawa-en Dashi Soroee is a traditional event where five magnificent festival floats (dashi), typically seen during the Tsutsui-cho Tenno Matsuri and Dekimachi Tenno Matsuri in Nagoya, gather in front of the Tokugawa Art Museum at Tokugawa-en. This is a rare opportunity to witness these grand, decorated floats lined up against the backdrop of a historic Japanese garden, symbolizing the rich cultural heritage of the region.
The main highlight is the sight of the five intricately decorated floats gathered together amidst the serene beauty of the garden. As the early summer greenery and blooming Iris (Hanashobu) flowers fill the air, the traditional floats create a striking atmosphere that feels worlds away from daily life. This event features a very limited viewing window as the floats gather for display. We highly recommend arriving at the Tokugawa Art Museum Plaza by 11:00 to ensure you see the full collection.
