The Tanabe Fireworks Festival is a grand, historic event held at Ogihama Beach in Tanabe City, Wakayama Prefecture. Approximately 3,500 fireworks will illuminate the night sky. This festival is held on the same day as the "Benkei Matsuri," allowing visitors to experience both a powerful fireworks display and deep-rooted local traditions.
The absolute highlight is the "Ultra-Wide Panorama Fireworks," which spans a massive 1,000 meters. This artistic display of light fills the vast night sky for a truly breathtaking experience. Additionally, the show features unique themes inspired by Tanabe's famous local specialty, the plum (Ume). Watch for colorful displays such as the "Giant Weeping Red and White Plum" and colors inspired by "Plum Wine" or "Energetic Pickled Plum Red!" The venue is Ogihama Beach, Tanabe City. Due to extreme crowds, the use of public transportation is highly recommended. If you choose to drive, temporary parking lots are available, but please note they are limited and often fill up very early.
