The Shibushi Oshaka Matsuri is a historic celebration of local tradition and spiritual heritage. Over two days, including the Eve Festival and the Main Festival, the entire city comes alive with energy. This event is a perfect way to experience the quintessential atmosphere of a Japanese festival, characterized by traditional rituals, colorful parades, and a bustling market of street food stalls.

The festival offers a diverse range of cultural experiences. During the Main Festival, you can witness grand parades winding through the streets, the lively Senken-machi market, and traditional stage performances at Homan-ji Temple. For a more serene experience, you can witness sacred Buddhist wedding ceremonies at Jokokuji Temple. The Eve Festival offers a different charm, as the night streets fill with food stalls and a unique, nostalgic atmosphere.

The festival is held over two days: the Eve Festival and the Main Festival.

Large-scale traffic restrictions will be in place around the venue. If you are arriving by car, please use the designated parking areas.

Shuttle Bus Service

Using the shuttle bus is highly recommended for accessing the event. Please check the specific routes and schedules on the day of the event. During the festival, many roads become pedestrian-only zones or vehicle-restricted areas, making public transport and the shuttle bus the most convenient options.
