The Otsu Shiga Fireworks Display is a traditional summer event held at the scenic Omi Maiko area in Otsu City, Shiga Prefecture. Approximately 2,000 fireworks, including high-impact star mines, are launched from the waters of Lake Biwa. Against the backdrop of the beautiful Hira Mountains, the colorful lights reflect off the lake surface, creating a breathtaking and mystical atmosphere that captivates all who visit.
The main highlight is the massive scale of the fireworks launched over the vast expanse of Lake Biwa. The brilliant star mine sequences transform the night sky and the water into a glowing, dreamlike space. You can enjoy the spectacle while relaxing on the beautiful white sand and pine-fringed shores of Omi Maiko, fully immersing yourself in the quintessential atmosphere of a Japanese summer night.
