Hachiojiyama Park (Ota City Northern Sports Park), located in Ota City, Gunma Prefecture, is a vast natural oasis. In spring, the park comes alive with the breathtaking sight of Somei Yoshino cherry blossoms, making it a beloved destination for locals and travelers alike. With its expansive lawns, outdoor stages, and eco-friendly facilities, it is an ideal spot for families and tourists to unwind in nature.
The main draw of Hachiojiyama Park is the spectacular spring scenery. The park is home to many Somei Yoshino cherry trees, which create a stunning pink canopy during the blooming season. The wide-open grassy areas offer a perfect setting for a relaxing picnic or a leisurely stroll amidst nature. While the park features well-maintained facilities like an outdoor stage and management building, please note that Moss Phlox (Shibazakura) and Nemophila are not currently planted, so please plan your visit accordingly.
The park is open 24 hours a day and can be visited outside of specific event periods. The cherry blossoms typically reach full bloom in early April. Please note that while the park is always accessible, specific seasonal events like the 'Ota Shibazakura Festival' or illumination displays may not be active at the time of your visit. Due to the vast size of the park, comfortable walking shoes are highly recommended. The wide lawns and outdoor stages provide a great space to relax, though please note that 'grass sliding' activities are currently unavailable.
