Located in Nogi Town, Tochigi—a town famous for its beautiful flowers and brick architecture—the Nogi Town Sunflower Festival is a beloved seasonal highlight of summer. The sight of approximately 300,000 sunflowers blooming densely across a massive 4.3-hectare field is truly breathtaking. These vibrant yellow blooms, reaching toward the midsummer sun, offer a sense of energy and natural beauty to all who visit.
The main attraction is the overwhelming scale of the sunflower fields that stretch as far as the eye can see. The landscape resembles a bright yellow carpet, providing a magical escape from daily life. Since the festival is timed for peak bloom, you can expect spectacular views if the weather is clear. However, as this is an outdoor event in the heat of summer, sun protection and heatstroke prevention are essential. Parking is limited, so if you are driving, we recommend arriving early. You can also combine this visit with other sunflower events in nearby Mashiko or Kamimikawa for a complete Tochigi summer experience.
