"Minato HANABI 2026 - 5 Days of Color in Kobe" is a special maritime fireworks event designed to celebrate the vibrant waterfront of Kobe. The year 2026 marks a major milestone: the 5th anniversary of the event. Expect an even more spectacular and high-impact display than usual. You can enjoy this breathtaking spectacle of light and color perfectly synchronized with Kobe's famous night scenery right from Meriken Park.
The biggest draw is the seamless harmony between the fireworks and the beautiful Kobe nightscape. To celebrate the 5th anniversary, the production will feature special effects and a more colorful palette to create a dramatic atmosphere over the water. While the display is concentrated into a powerful 20-minute session, it is designed to be an unforgettable, high-intensity experience that captures the heart.
The fireworks are scheduled to take place from 18:30 to 18:50 (approximately 20 minutes) on each designated day. Because the display is short and intense, we recommend arriving at the venue with plenty of time to secure a good viewing spot.
The viewing area is located at Meriken Park, a prime waterfront location in Kobe that offers an unobstructed view of the sea and the fireworks. As the area is expected to be very crowded, we highly recommend using public transportation to reach the venue.
Please note that this event is held without food or merchandise stalls (yatai) within the immediate viewing area. We recommend preparing your own food and drinks in advance or visiting nearby shops and restaurants. The event also involves collaboration with local businesses to celebrate the 5th anniversary, making the entire city part of the celebration.
As the waterfront can become quite chilly after sunset, we recommend bringing a light jacket or extra layer to stay warm. Since there are no food stalls on-site, please ensure you have your own refreshments. For specific details regarding reservations or facilities, please check the official website.
