The Kagoshima Kinkowan Summer Night Grand Fireworks Display is one of Kyushu's most spectacular summer traditions. Hosted by Kagoshima City, this massive event features approximately 15,000 fireworks launched against the backdrop of the iconic Sakurajima volcano and the calm waters of Kinkowan Bay. It is a breathtaking fusion of Japan's natural volcanic beauty and high-impact pyrotechnic artistry.

Look forward to high-intensity displays, such as rapid-fire sequences of 1-shaku shells and the rare, luxurious simultaneous launch of 2-shaku shells. The main viewing area is around the Kagoshima Port Honko area. Please note that significant traffic restrictions will be in place around the venue, particularly near the Aquarium and Minami Pier.
Because the area becomes extremely crowded, we strongly recommend using public transportation. Driving or using private cars is difficult due to strict traffic regulations. To ensure a comfortable and premium view, consider booking a paid spectator seat in advance.
