The Hokukoku Hanabi Kanazawa Festival is a beloved summer tradition in Kanazawa. As the only large-scale fireworks display in the heart of the city, it features approximately 12,000 fireworks that paint the night sky in vibrant colors. The main performance takes place along the banks of the Sai River, offering a dynamic display of light and sound.
The main attraction is the massive-scale display of 12,000 fireworks. While the most intense views are near the Sai River, you can also enjoy the beautiful scenery from surrounding elevated areas or from the windows of nearby buildings. It is a magical way to experience the atmosphere of a Japanese summer night alongside the cityscape of Kanazawa.
The event is scheduled for Saturday, July 26, 2025. In the event of bad weather, the display is scheduled to be postponed to the following day, Sunday, July 27. The fireworks are expected to begin at 19:50.
The venue is the area around the Sai River Green Space (Ken'ei Mameda Simple Ground) near Mamedacho, Kanazawa. Please note that there is no parking available near the venue. We strongly recommend using public transportation or the dedicated shuttle buses.
