The Hansho Daikoku Autumn Festival (Eto Kigan-sai) is a seasonal celebration held at Shimogamo Jinja, one of Kyoto's most historic shrines. The festival honors Hansho Daikoku-no-kami, the deity of prosperity, longevity, and successful business ventures. The connection to prosperity stems from the sacred 'Go-go Masu' (five-measure rice box) used in the shrine's rituals. Set against the crisp autumn air, this event offers a unique blend of sacred ritual and festive energy.

The centerpiece of this festival is the performance of Gagaku (ancient imperial court music) and traditional dance at the 'Hashidono' pavilion.
