Hana Matsuri (Kobayashi District) is a deeply historic traditional event in Toei, Aichi Prefecture, designated as a National Important Intangible Folk Cultural Property. Its origins are estimated to date back approximately 700 years to the late Kamakura or early Muromachi periods, passed down by mountain ascetics (Yamabushi) from Kumano and Mt. Hakusan.

This is a ritual of prayer to offer food, drink, and dance to the deities, seeking blessings, protection from misfortune, and spiritual purification. The Kobayashi district version is unique, blending the characteristics of both the 'Oiri-style' and 'Furigusa-style' rhythmic traditions.
