This festival is renowned for the presentation of the "Hanakago Matsuri," a prefectural-designated intangible folk cultural property, and the "Kirin Shishimai" (Kirin Lion Dance), a significant cultural asset. Mushii Jinja itself is a serene shrine surrounded by a sacred forest known as "Shaso," a prefectural natural monument that offers a lush, natural atmosphere.
The greatest draw is the breathtaking beauty of the "Hana-kago" (flower baskets). Watching the local youth carry these vibrant, sun-shaped baskets toward the shrine is a truly awe-inspiring sight. Additionally, the "Kirin Shishimai"—a tradition said to have been passed down from Ube Shrine during the Taisho era—is a precious cultural asset that preserves ancient performance styles.
